Brightening Children’s Lives Summer Ball – Saturday 2 July 2011

The annual summer ball of the Leeds Children’s Charity was a huge success due to the help and support of many volunteers and sponsors.  The trustees of the charity would like to thank everyone who contributed in any way, eg helping to organise the event, donators of auction and raffle prizes, artists who gave their time and energy to entertain our guests, and many more.

It is hoped that over £5,500 will have been raised from the event and this will be used to finance a week’s holiday for 28 disadvantaged children at Silverdale Holiday Centre, near Morecambe.  On behalf of all those children, I would like to say how wonderful if will be for them to enjoy time and space to have fun and play without pressures from dysfunctional families and responsibilities beyond their years.

The trustees would also like to thank the staff at the Leeds Marriott Hotel for all their ongoing help and support which is much appreciated.
