Leeds Children’s Charity and the Lineham Farm Children’s Trust are working closely together so we can support more young people from Leeds.
As part of this joint work, and to raise much-needed funds, we are organising our first family fun run, which will take place on Sunday, September 16 at Lineham Farm, in Leeds.
The course, approximately 5K, will take in the sights and sounds of rural life and will allow you to see, first hand, what facilities the centre has to offer the young people we work with.
Supported by local running group, the Raving Roundhay River Runners, it’s hoped that the fun run will become an annual event.
Ian Hargreaves, Chair of Leeds Children’s Charity, said: “I would like to thank the Raving Roundhay River Runners for their support. The idea of organising our own family fun run will help us to raise much-needed funding for our work.”
Paul Rogerson, Chair of Lineham Farm Children’s Trust, said: “Like Ian, I would like to express my thanks to Phil Cunliffe and his team for their support. If the run is successful, it will hopefully become an important family-fun, and fundraising, event for many years to come”.
Phil Cunliffe, a runner taking part in the event and speaking on behalf of the Raving Roundhay River Runners, said: “We’re looking forward to families and their friends and relatives joining us in the fun run and enjoying the beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere whilst supporting what is very important work with young people from the city of Leeds.”
For further information about the run, which costs £10 per adult and £5 per child to enter, and details on how to register, please visit https://racebest.com/races/vv8su.
