As we step into a new year, it’s a time when many people are looking for a new and exciting way to challenge themselves, try something new, or simply do a bit of good. At Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm, we believe wholeheartedly in the power of events and challenges that are not only fun but support a meaningful cause too.

Our range of events for 2024 are perfect for igniting your adventurous spirit while knowing you’re doing your bit to brighten the lives of the children of Leeds who need it most. If you’re in need of more inspiration, we’ve rounded up a few great ideas below – perfect for if you’re looking for a new milestone to tick off this year.

Try a virtual Easter run

Why not run on behalf of a charity at this year’s virtual easter run? Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, this virtual challenge can be completed at your own pace, anytime or anywhere you choose, as long as it’s on or before Easter Day. It’s great for anyone with a busy lifestyle who wants a challenge without committing to a specific time. There are some great prizes up for grabs including charity donations for the fastest time in fancy dress and the person who raises the most money for their chosen charity. Grab your bunny ears and join in the fun!

Explore Leeds on the Great Leeds Walk

Offering a unique way to discover the beauty of Leeds and the surrounding area, we created this exclusive event for Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm. 2024 sees us host the first-ever Great Leeds Walk and we couldn’t be more excited. The full walk will start and finish at Lineham Farm, taking you on a scenic journey through both urban spaces and the wonderful countryside of rural Yorkshire.

We want the Great Leeds Walk to be accessible for everyone, so you can choose from three different routes. First, a 5k walk around the grounds of Lineham Farm, which is a perfect choice for families with children and those looking for a slightly more leisurely stroll. Next, you could join us for a 10-mile walk, ideal for anyone who wants a bigger challenge. For the ultimate adventure, you could take on the full 26-mile circular, which starts and finishes at Lineham Farm.

The walks are all self-led with markers and marshals along the route. Whether you’re walking with friends, family, colleagues or alone, these walks are the perfect way to experience the beauty that’s on your doorstep while being part of something special – and of course fundraising for a fantastic cause.

Tee off at our Annual Golf Day

Open to participants of all skill levels, our Annual Golf Day is a fantastic way to network, build connections and enjoy a round of golf on an Alister MacKenzie designed course at Leeds Golf Club. We’re partnering with Sand Moor Golf Club to combine golf with charity fundraising for a tee-rrific day of challenges and prizes. It’s open to four-ball teams and the entry fee includes green fees, tea and coffee upon arrival, and food. All funds raised from the Annual Golf Day will directly support the work of Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm, helping to ensure that more children have the chance to experience joy and adventure in a safe and welcoming environment.

Join a city-wide Treasure Hunt

Gather friends, colleagues or family members for an immersive experience in the heart of Leeds City Centre – 2024 our Treasure Hunt. We’ll be putting your team’s brain power to the test to solve clues that will lead you through the city to a final pub stop, where we’ll celebrate the winners with light snacks. On the way, there’ll be teamwork, laughs, friendly competition and networking, with plenty of pub stops along the way. Race against time to crack the clues and be the first team to finish. Even better, all proceeds will directly contribute to supporting the impactful work of Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm.
