Become a Fundraising Trustee at Leeds Children’s Charity

Leeds Children’s Charity is seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Trustee to join our Board during an exciting period of growth, transformation, and renewed ambition.

This is a unique opportunity to use your fundraising expertise to help shape the future of a long-established children’s charity that supports children across Leeds who are living in poverty, experiencing trauma, or facing disadvantage.

Helping Build a Sustainable Future

Following a comprehensive governance review, Leeds Children’s Charity is strengthening its Board by introducing several new Trustee roles designed to enhance resilience, improve strategic oversight, and safeguard the organisation’s long-term sustainability.

As Fundraising Trustee, you will play an important strategic role in helping the Charity:

  • Strengthen long-term financial sustainability
  • Diversify income and fundraising opportunities
  • Build meaningful relationships with donors, supporters, and partners
  • Support ethical, sustainable fundraising practices
  • Expand the Charity’s reach and impact across Leeds

An Exciting Time to Join Our Board

This is a pivotal moment for Leeds Children’s Charity. Working alongside fellow Trustees and in partnership with the Chief Executive and Head of Fundraising, the Fundraising Trustee will provide strategic oversight, advice, and constructive challenge on matters relating to fundraising, income generation, and supporter engagement.

This is a governance and advisory role rather than an operational fundraising position. We are looking for someone who can bring current senior-level fundraising insight to support strategic decision-making and help strengthen the Charity’s long-term fundraising strategy.

The Board is seeking an inclusive, collaborative, and values-driven individual who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.

Leeds Children’s Charity is particularly committed to strengthening equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) at Board level, ensuring that governance reflects and champions the communities the Charity serves across Leeds.

Making a Lasting Difference for Children in Leeds

Each year, Leeds Children’s Charity provides residential breaks, outdoor learning, and respite experiences for thousands of children. Many of the children supported face significant challenges, including poverty, social isolation, and difficult home circumstances.

Strong governance and sustainable fundraising are essential to ensuring more children can continue to access these life-changing experiences.

Chief Executive Sharon Milner said:

“We look ahead with confidence and optimism, united by a shared purpose: to give more children the chance to learn, grow and thrive. If you share our commitment to inclusive leadership and creating lasting positive change, we would be delighted to hear from you.”
